The D.A.M.A.F.I. started life in the early 1950s as The Dragon Karate Club. The Instructor at the time was Sensei R. Stephens. The club expanded to cover other styles and became the Dragon All Style Karate Club.

Later Sensei Stephens joined with Sensei Rogers and the club became the Dragon All Style Martial Arts Club.

At an event in the distant past Sensei Stephens and I met. There was a meeting of like minds. Two people who had traveled different roads to arrive at the same place. This was our Karma.

The Federation was born and became International.

Sensei Stephens, the Founder of the Federation is now Grandmaster and ranked at 10th Dan. Sensei Rogers is now Professor and ranked at 8th Dan and is founder of World Kempo Arts.

Along the way many people have helped to develop the Shin ó Ken system. Most are members of the Founding Council. Others have gone their own way to develop their own unique styles.

My thanks to everyone who has put so much into the Federation. The endless search for knowledge goes on. What we know so far is but a drop in the ocean. The students of today are the Masters of tomorrow. Nourish them well for without them here is no tomorrow, there is no Federation.

Any member of D.A.M.A.F.I. may train at any World Kempo & Martial Arts Federation dojo providing they show their license. Likewise any member of W.K.&M.A.F. must be welcomed into any D.A.M.A.F.I. dojo.

Shin Ken roughly translates to spirit of sword or real sword. It is a combination of various styles of martial arts, mostly based on ju-jitsu concepts.
